My Roomate!

Lyn runs almost everyday. She is very active and loves running with her ipod. It was hard to get this because I couldn't focus the lens fast enough. It was close to sunset, my favorite time to take photos so the lighting is just how I like it.

Lyn loves to goof around and be outside. She is a kid at heart. Spring is her favorite season. I love the framing that the tree does, and this angle {from a lower angle} was the best of all the pictures I took. This picture best describes Lyn's personality because of her playfulness and optimism.

If you know Lyn then you know her laugh. Its infectious and loud and you can't help but laugh when you hear it. This was taken in my room because it has the best lighting in our apartment. It was also taken around sunset with the blinds shut so it wasn't too much light. I like the yellowish glow of that time of day.

At a park in Park Ridge, IL. This deer let me walk within 20 feet of it and then started walking toward me.

Earlville Karate Club - Weekly Class. I think the two-toned colors are pretty cool. The kid is really white and natural looking and the background is yellowish. I didn't do this on purpose it just happened that way. No flash used.

The House of Bricks

To me, the House of Bricks is all about the live music. The sound board and sound guy are essential for having live music.

The House of Bricks is a small venue, but large enough to have an energetic interactive crowd.

Lighting in a bar/venue is always important. You need bright stage lights, and dim backlights to keep the mood light and fun.

Being a small venue means fans can interact, hang out, and become friends with band members. Here a fan of Evan Taubenfeld, gets a hug. This is my favorite aspect of The House of Bricks.

I love shallow depth of field.

She {Abisha} was awesome to photograph. She has so much emotion and great facial expressions when she sings.

The Mews has pretty good lighting for a small venue. It works well.

This girl was crazy to watch. Very interesting. She was pretending to shoot people in the audience with her guitar.

Students

Jenni was studying for a test, and the light from the window was right on her hand, so I liked how it made most of the picture seem desaturated, and the blue of the sticky notes stands out.

Tony was playing video games, and the light from the window looked great, so I took the close up shot of his hands and the controller.

Atasha Sosa - I like the bright colors of the balloons and the shallow depth of field. I think you can tell that it's a party atmosphere by the way her foot is casually resting on the balloon. She looks comfortable The picture was taken at a surprise party.
